"Desert colours again. Water that overflows. When you throw a rock in the water. You can see the contours, the waves."
Kulumindini Artist Mary James continues her ongoing painting series Colours of the Desert with this painting which uses muted reds, oranges, yellows, browns and greys to create a circular dot painting. The rhythmic placement of the different coloured dots mimic the rippling of water after a stone has been dropped into it.
