"Waterholes. The creek bed with the contours of the landscape. Using desert colours again, in the middle. Ngapa means water or waterholes in Walpiri."
Kulumindini artist Mary James has painted an arial landscape of three dotted waterholes in a hilly terrain. The three waterholes are dotted in Mary's bold and rhythmic signature style. The sand hills abstracted sand hills are portrayed as multicoloured concentric shapes which overlap to convey the contours of the landscape.
