Collection: Keris Pwerl Clegg

"I paint because I find it relaxing. It is a good way to teach my two daughters about bush tucker and painting."

Kerris Pwerl Cleggs grew up in Owairtilla (Canteen Creek), a small remote Alyawarr community located about 183km southeast of Tennant Creek. Kerris' mother Marlene Philomac is also an artist, and helped teach Kerris to paint. Kerris tends to paint bush tucker and flowers in a very neat and refined style.

Along with painting, Kerris works with the community nutrition program that teaches kids about healthy eating, attends church, and spends time with her family. She likes to take her kids hunting and cook kangaroo tail out bush, saying, "Culture is a big part of my life and work."
