Susie Pope has depicted bush medicine leaf cascading across the canvas in brilliant colour. Bush medicine is a recurring theme in Susie's work, the work draws on a motif made popular by other great Alyawarr and Anmatyere, Susie will often also emphasise leaves with her signature white dotting, representing the tiny seeds from which bush medicine grows. The work reflects Susie’s childhood spent near the Wilora community. The children would go hunting with family members, collecting bush medicine, tuckers, and meats. Susie maintains a fascination with bush medicine and flowers, this has continued to inform her creative practice.
