Collection: Jimmy Rubuntja

Departing from the heavily dotted landscapes characteristic of Epenarra's art, Jimmy Rubuntja's work echoes the style of the Hermannsburg school, a genre for which the extended Rubjuntja family is well-known. Jimmy recalls his technical training as a water-colourist in his use of acrylic paint, employing dramatic brush strokes and deep colours to depict the landscape in a rich painterly style. Jimmy's paintings capture the wealth of birdlife and flora that inhabit Central Australia and deftly record the dramatic effect of sand dunes and hills bursting from otherwise flat landscapes.
